Who can apply for Our Memberships?

SLAPC is a professional body governing Counselling and Psychotherapy in Sri Lanka. We offer Memberships to individuals from recognized professional institutes providing Counselling and Psychotherapy Education in Sri Lanka.

Institute of Psychological Studies with a history of 40 years has been nurturing professional Counsellors and Psychotherapists all around the Nation is considered as an interim recognized Institute by the SLAPC.

Individuals from External Organizations/Institutes may apply for Membership considering they adhere to the Membership Categories Policy Listed below and provided they have received their education from a recognized education provider specializing in Counselling and Psychotherapy.

SLAPC Membership Categories Policy

How to Apply for SLAPC membership?

Individuals from both interim recognized Institutes and External Institutes MUST handover following Documents PHYSICALLY to the SLAPC head office.

  • Completed SLAPC application form
  • Photocopies of your Educational certificates, transcripts

  • A Photocopy of your NIC

  • Payment receipt with payment made according to the relevant membership category (Payments can also be made at the SLAPC head office)

  • Three Stamp Sized (2×2) photographs with an ash or white coloured background.

SLAPC is a body governing Ethical practice in Counsellors and Psychotherapists all over the Nation. As Professionals we must always adhere to the Code of Ethics to benefit both Service Providers and service Recipients.
